Maps

I've broken our trip down into 7 legs. Here are some maps to help with the geography. All 7 legs will be by train.

We start off in Madrid. We hope to spend 3 days there, then 1 day in Sevilla, 1 1/2 days in Granada, then 3 days in Barcelona.

From Barcelona, we'll head to Avignon for a few days, then at least one day in Nice before heading to Paris for 3 days.

After we've had our fill of Paris, it's off to Amsterdam for 3-4 days.

I hope to provide more details on what we hope to do in each of these locations before we leave.

If you get a chance to visit Anncey between Nice and Paris, I can highly recommend it! It is breathtakingly lovely.

Have a wonderful time!

In Madrid the museums to see are:

1.Thyssen-Bornemisza
http://www.museothyssen.org/

2. Reina Sofía (El Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía)
http://www.museoreinasofia.es/portada/portada.php

I'd go to these two before I went to the Prado. They are less crowded, but still have fabulous art. The Thyssen-Bornemisza (near the Prado) is organized from early to late and was meant to illustrate the history of painting. The Reina Sofia (near the train station) is focused on modern art and houses Picasso's Guernica.

Eat lots of tapas, especially octopus! I never could stay up late enough for a real dinner in Spain....
